Watson released an article about the attempts of Iranian authorities to destroy the evidence of the1988 massacre. The article refers to “Criminal cover-up,” a report released by Amnesty International, which argues Iranian authorities have been engaged in a series of actions to destroy the mass graves of political prisoners across Iran.

In 1988, about 5000 political activists were executed in prisoners across Iran. The killings were carried out on the order of Ayatollah Khomeini. Iranian regime has never acknowledged the massacre and refused to hold accountable those responsible for the crime.
