Mashhad, Tappeh Salam
Tappeh Salam is a hill on the way from Mashhad to Fariman. It got its name because when the buses bringing pilgrims to Mashhad reached it, the shrine of Imam Reza in the centre of the city is visible.
Families and locals don’t have any specific information, but former political prisoners from Mashhad and the families of the prisoners executed during the 1988 massacre in this city believe a number of those executed were buried in mass graves near the hill.
At present, the land in this area is covered with residential and commercial buildings.
To see the exact location of the mass grave, you need to zoom in.
