Qazvin, Shahzadeh Hossein Shrine
In the early 1980s, the families of executed prisoners whose relatives’ bodies were not returned to them, heard from mechanics working in the vicinity of the Shahzadeh Hossein shrine that they had been buried in several trenches in a wooded area beside the shrine.
Information gathered suggests that at least one of the families went to the area to dig the ground. They failed to find the body of their relative but discovered the remains of others.
The area is located at the crossroads of Jomhuri Eslami Boulevard and Salamgah Street and is now surrounded on four sides by several constructions including a cemetery for martyrs of the Iran-Iraq war, a market, shopping centres and residential buildings.
